2024
Tough Mudder
In aid of Cancer Research UK and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity
We raised an amazing £3,778.50
In 2024, the Applica Resourcing Ltd team stepped up to the challenge by taking part in the Tough Mudder 10K course at Cholmondeley Castle, in support of Cancer Research UK and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity.
Our Senior Recruitment Consultant, Jess Brunskill, led the fundraising drive. Jess’s own connection to the cause runs deep, as her stepbrother Callum is the only known patient worldwide to have Evans syndrome combined with Crohn’s disease, rare conditions treated in the haematology department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Around the same time, Jess’s father was also diagnosed with cancer, making the challenge even more meaningful.
A bake sale held before the event turned our kitchen into a mini bakery, raising valuable funds and setting the tone for the big day. The main event itself was an unforgettable display of perseverance and teamwork, with muddy crawls, icy obstacles, and an incredible sense of unity across the team.
Together, our efforts raised an amazing £3,778.50, all of which contributed to:
- Supporting the haematology department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in researching Evans syndrome and providing patient care
- Assisting Cancer Research UK in its mission to stop cancer through research, prevention, and treatment
This event perfectly embodied what Applica stands for resilience, team spirit, and purposeful impact beyond the workplace.
