My client, a global Operating company is recruiting for a Well Log Analyst to be based in Pau, France on a contract basis. The role involves Monte Carlo modelling of nuclear logging probes in cased oil well environments.

The role:
Nuclear physics assistance mission for Monte Carlo modelling of nuclear probe measurements in cased wells.
 

Experience in the following required:

• MCNP and GEANT4 modelling of nuclear probes in open and cased hole contexts: model creation, simulation, and result generation. This work includes sizing simulations to achieve a statistical target.
• Analysis of simulation results, production of importance maps and generation of sensitivity functions (according to scripts provided).
• Integration of maps into existing forward modelling code for logs.
