About the Role
Our client is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused leader to support business development activities across new energies, lifecycle services, and industrial project markets in Western Canada. This role will focus on strengthening established local partnerships, driving in-market client engagement, and supporting growth opportunities across industrial decarbonization, emissions reduction, and lifecycle project scopes.
In this position, you will report into the Responsible Business Development function and serve as a key local representative for the business. You will manage day-to-day partner collaboration, coordinate closely with internal technical and functional leadership teams, and provide location-level leadership for assigned personnel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive market engagement strategy, including budgeting, stakeholder planning, partner coordination, and client outreach. This role will also support business development and tendering governance processes, leveraging internal sales tools, technologies, and support systems to identify, progress, and secure new opportunities.
Key responsibilities include maintaining regular and transparent communication with stakeholders regarding local market opportunities, location performance, and business challenges, while ensuring internal resources and external partners are aligned to deliver on approved growth strategies.
About You
You are an experienced business development and engineering leader with a strong understanding of Western Canada’s industrial market, particularly within Alberta and the broader emissions reduction sector. You bring an established regional network and a proven ability to generate business, develop partnerships, and support complex industrial project opportunities from early engagement through execution planning.
You will ideally bring a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, along with at least 10 years of leadership experience in business development, project development, engineering, or commercial roles. Experience working with industrial emitters, emissions reduction technologies, licensed technology integration, and partner-powered delivery models will be highly valued.
You should have strong contractual and commercial acumen, specific knowledge of the Alberta region and experience managing interfaces across clients, partners, and internal technical teams. Previous management experience across Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering phases is important for success in this role.
Experience across industries such as pulp and paper, power, power grids, carbon capture and storage, brownfield modifications, or other complex industrial environments would be considered an asset.
