About the Role
The HSEQ Coordinator supports the HSSEQ Manager and the project organization by ensuring a structured, systematic and proactive follow-up of health, safety, environment and quality requirements during the planning and implementation phase of the BECCS project.
The role has a strong focus on audits, inspections, regulatory compliance and implementation, and aims to strengthen operational HSEQ work on site – without taking on formal coordination responsibility according to Swedish work environment legislation.
The role reports to the HSSEQ Manager and works in close collaboration with the BAS-P Case Manager, BAS-U Case Manager, Environmental Specialist, QA/QC and other parts of the project organization.
Overall responsibility
- Document management in Project Place and ACONEX (structure, traceability and quality assurance)
- Follow-up of HSSEQ KPIs and Control Tower
- Produce and deliver reports for HSSEQ performance
- Identify recurring deficiencies, trends and systematic weaknesses and report these to the HSSEQ Manager
- Contribute to improved foresight by identifying upcoming high-risk activities
Main responsibilities:
- Work environment (H & S) – systematic follow-up
- Support the BAS-U Case Manager and BAS-P Case Manager by developing, maintaining and following up on structures, routines and systems that enable compliance with applicable work environment legislation and project requirements, without taking over coordination responsibilities.
- Verify that systems and procedures are in place for handling incidents, risk assessments, work plans and method descriptions – and that these are developed, reviewed, communicated and followed up according to legal requirements and the project's governing documents.
- Ensure that safety rounds, safety walks and work environment follow-ups are planned, implemented and documented according to the project's procedures.
- Follow up on HSE events in ACONEX and ensure that risk observations, incidents and accidents are handled and closed.
- Coordinate HSE training for project members and contractors/suppliers.
Audits & quality assurance
- Plan, coordinate and follow up on internal HSEQ audits and inspections within the BECCS project.
- Develop and maintain an HSEQ audit program and associated audit plans that include:
- Work environment (H&S)
- Quality management (in collaboration with QA/QC)
- Environmental management (in collaboration with Environmental Specialist
- Verify compliance with the project's governing documents, procedures and agreed-upon working methods.
- Coordinate and ensure that ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) and control plans are established.
- Document and follow up on audit findings, deviations, improvement measures and lessons learned.
- Ensure follow-up, closure and traceability of NCR (Non-Conformity Reports).
- Environment (E) – coordination and implementation support
- Collaborate with Environmental Specialist to ensure that environmental requirements, government decisions and protective measures are implemented through established project routines.
- Follow up through review and audit that contractors apply approved environmental procedures and control measures according to agreed requirements (back-to-back).
- Coordinate environmental audits and reviews in collaboration with the Environmental Specialist, without taking over specialist responsibility.
About You
You are an experienced HSEQ professional with at least 7–10 years of solid experience in health, safety, environment and quality management, preferably within major construction and/or industrial projects. You have worked in complex project environments where systematic follow-up, auditing and continuous improvement are natural parts of your daily work.
You possess strong analytical skills and are confident in planning and conducting audits, performing structured follow-ups, and driving improvement processes. Your working method is organized, methodical and detail-oriented, enabling you to identify risks, deviations and development areas with precision.
You have a good understanding of Swedish work environment legislation and solid knowledge of safety practices within construction and industrial settings. In addition, you are well-versed in quality management systems and experienced in audit methodologies and structured follow-up processes.
As a communicator, you are clear, professional and pedagogical. You have strong leadership skills and the ability to build trust across the organization. You work independently while effectively supporting multiple functions in parallel, and you are proactive and solution-oriented in your approach.
You are comfortable collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and have a strong ability to manage relationships in complex organizational structures. Finally, you communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in speech as well as in writing.
