Houston, TX | Hybrid
About the Client
Our client is a global leader in renewable energy technology, supporting the development, integration, and long-term performance of large-scale wind, solar, battery storage, and hybrid power projects around the world. The organization operates at the forefront of the energy transition, combining advanced engineering, digital technology, and deep power-systems expertise to help deliver reliable, efficient, and grid-compliant renewable energy solutions.
With a strong international presence and close partnerships across utilities, developers, grid operators, regulators, and research organizations, the company plays an active role in shaping the technical standards and interconnection requirements affecting inverter-based resources. Its teams work across product development, project execution, field operations, and grid integration to address complex challenges related to system stability, renewable penetration, and evolving grid-code requirements.
This opportunity offers the chance to join a collaborative, globally connected engineering environment where technical expertise is highly valued and where your work will directly influence renewable energy projects, product design, and the future direction of the power industry.
About the Role
We are seeking a Grid Code Engineer to support the modeling, analysis, and grid integration of renewable power plants across the United States and Canada. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on running power system simulations, interpreting technical results, and supporting the development and integration of grid-compliant plant control solutions.
You will work closely with senior engineers, internal R&D teams, project stakeholders, and industry partners to evaluate plant performance, support grid compliance activities, and contribute to projects throughout the sales, construction, commissioning, and service phases. The role offers the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in grid codes, dynamic modeling, plant controls, and renewable energy integration while working alongside experienced interconnection and power systems professionals.
About You
You are an electrical engineer with practical experience in power systems, control systems, grid integration, or renewable energy modeling. You are comfortable working directly with simulation tools, reviewing technical data, and translating modeling results into clear engineering conclusions and recommendations.
You are not an entry-level engineer and can independently manage assigned technical work, while also being eager to learn from senior team members and expand your knowledge of grid compliance and plant controls. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, or E-TRAN is preferred, along with exposure to wind, solar, battery storage, utilities, transmission systems, or other inverter-based generation technologies. Familiarity with North American grid codes, NERC requirements, IEEE standards, or utility interconnection requirements would also be beneficial.
What’s on Offer?
This direct-hire opportunity offers a hybrid Downtown Houston schedule, a comprehensive health and wellness package, company-paid disability and life insurance, and a 401(k) with a 100% match on the first 6% of employee contributions after six months. Additional benefits include flexible time off, nine paid holidays, a floating holiday, annual bonus eligibility, and education reimbursement, as well as relocation assistance.
