About You
You are a highly analytical Financial Analyst with a strong numerical mindset and experience supporting oil and gas commodities trading. You are comfortable working with complex data, quickly identifying risks, and providing insights that support fast-paced trading decisions.
You bring:
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP
- Hands-on experience with ETRM systems such as RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, or OpenLink
- Prior Risk Analyst experience within oil and gas commodities, gained in either large or small-to-mid-sized organizations
- A flexible, adaptable approach, with exposure to multiple risk functions rather than working in a siloed environment
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numbers and financial data

About the Role
As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the trading business through accurate risk reporting, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for delivering daily P&L and exposure reporting across a broad range of commodities, including crude oil, gasoline, distillates, fuel oil, renewables, and NGLs, ensuring transparency and confidence in trading results.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing and validating daily P&L and exposure reports, ensuring accuracy across multiple commodities
- Performing P&L attribution and analysis, explaining daily movements and identifying key risk drivers and market impacts
- Validating trades and deals in risk systems, partnering closely with front office, operations, and accounting to resolve discrepancies
- Reviewing and validating market curves and pricing inputs to ensure accurate valuation
- Collaborating with trading, scheduling, accounting, FP&A, and risk teams to support timely reporting and issue resolution
- Leading and supporting process improvement initiatives, including the standardization and automation of reporting
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of risk systems, dashboards, and analytical tools
- Supporting governance and control frameworks to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Providing backup coverage across regions or products and mentoring junior analysts to promote team continuity and knowledge sharing
- Partnering with FP&A to ensure mark-to-market P&L aligns with GAAP standards used for external financial reporting
