CAD Subsea Design Engineer

Client: Global EPC Contractor
Location: Stavanger, Norway
Contract: 12 months (extension likely)

About the Opportunity
Our client makes offshore energy transition possible through the continuous evolution of lower-carbon oil and gas, while also enabling the growth of renewables and emerging energy. This role involves working on Norwegian projects for their end client.
 
What you will do:

  • Create 2D/3D storyboards and subsea installation sequences using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Design and model subsea steel and GRP structures, piping layouts, and other components with 3D Inventor and 2D AutoCAD across all project phases.
  • Prepare detailed fabrication drawings of steel structures, temporary installation aids, detailed 2D/3D lift rigging arrangements, subsea field layouts and approach drawings/sketches using both AutoCAD and Inventor software.
  • Convert 3D models into precise detail drawings, performing interface checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop schematics and P&IDs for subsea structures.
  • Apply industry design codes and standards, including NORSOK, DNV, Eurocode, ISO, and ASME.
  • Interpret design and functional requirements from contractual documents to maintain technical accuracy and project alignment.
  • Support fabrication engineers by defining scopes of work and contributing to FAT/SIT activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Perform self-checks on drawings/sketches and conduct drafting reviews of colleagues’ work.
  • Provide professional and technical guidance to other designers.

 
What we want from you:
•    Technical Education including courses within CAD Design 
•    Preferably 5-10 years of experience within design
•    Knowledge in the use of AutoCAD 2D CAD software
•    Knowledge in the use of Inventor 3D CAD software
•    Flexible and proactive approach to changes and challenges
•    Be able to work in a multi discipline environment
•    Good communication skills in English, both verbally and written
•    Good attention to details
•    A team player, with the ability to work independently.
