About the Client
The client is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, their modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
About the Role
This position plays a key part in securing the land rights and agreements necessary for major LNG export and pipeline infrastructure projects. Based in Louisiana with approximately 50% travel, the Land Representative reports directly to the Land Development Director and acts as a bridge between the organization, landowners, legal partners, regulatory bodies, and internal project teams. The role involves acquiring land, easements, licenses, permits, leases, and other rights essential for construction and long-term operations. You will handle negotiations with landowners, resolve damage claims, and conduct courthouse research to determine ownership and property interests. A significant portion of the role includes drafting and managing documentation such as rights of entry, easements, contracts, and property agreements. You will also provide guidance to internal teams on land-related procedures, support condemnation processes, maintain detailed landowner records and mapping files, and review vouchers associated with appraisals, legal services, and other project expenses. This is a hands-on, highly visible role that directly impacts the success of major energy infrastructure developments.
About You
You are an experienced land or right-of-way professional with a strong background in acquiring and managing property rights for large-scale infrastructure, ideally within energy, pipelines, or midstream development. You bring at least five years of experience negotiating with landowners, preparing land-related documentation, and supporting construction or operational activities in the field. You are comfortable balancing fieldwork with detailed administrative tasks, ownership research, and stakeholder communication. A degree in land management or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is also valued. Exposure to FERC processes or in-house land departments is a huge plus. You are highly organized, skilled in maintaining accurate records and maps, and proficient in Microsoft Office. Above all, you operate with strong integrity, clear communication, and a high ethical standard – qualities that are essential when working directly with landowners and representing the company's interests across Louisiana.
