About You
You are an experienced Purchasing Specialist or Buyer with a strong background in project procurement within engineering, energy, offshore, or industrial environments. You have a proven ability to manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, balancing commercial objectives with project delivery requirements to ensure materials and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You are confident managing supplier relationships, leading commercial negotiations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the procurement process. You possess strong organisational skills and attention to detail, enabling you to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining visibility of supplier performance, schedules, risks, and opportunities.
You thrive in fast-paced project environments and are comfortable working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive successful outcomes. Experience with ERP and procurement systems, combined with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, will enable you to excel in this role.
About the Role
We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement activities across a major project environment, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials and services required for successful project execution.
Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers, you will manage the full procurement process from sourcing and tendering through to purchase order management, expediting, inspection coordination, and final close-out. You will support supplier selection activities, conduct commercial evaluations and negotiations, and work closely with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure alignment on technical and contractual requirements.
The role will involve monitoring supplier performance and manufacturing progress, coordinating documentation and inspection activities, managing change orders, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact project schedules. You will also oversee invoice validation, shipment readiness, supplier close-out activities, and performance evaluations to support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Working within a collaborative project environment, you will play a key role in ensuring procurement activities contribute to the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of project objectives.
