Logistics Business Improvement – Data Analytics

About the Role

We are seeking a Logistics Business Improvement – Data Analytics professional to serve as the logistics data analytics subject matter expert, focused on improving transparency across transportation costs, logistics performance, and supply chain operations.

This role is responsible for developing analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide real-time, actionable insights to support better business decisions. You will play a key role in establishing and refining Power BI dashboards across multiple timelines, workstreams, and project stages, while translating business reporting requirements into standardized reporting processes, KPI frameworks, and dashboard structures.

In this position, you will support the Logistics Transparency Program by executing exception reports, analyzing root causes, and identifying opportunities to improve global supply chain and transportation logistics processes. You will enhance performance analytics related to carrier performance, rail maintenance, truck retains, runout and overfills, benchmarking, target comparisons, and other logistics metrics.

You will partner closely with cross-functional logistics, commercial, operations, supply chain, and IT teams to improve data structures, support system functionality enhancements, and execute SAP system changes that strengthen transportation logistics processes. This role will also support special projects and broader business improvement initiatives, helping ensure process changes are sustainable, measurable, and aligned to business priorities.

About You

You are highly analytical, technically strong, and comfortable turning complex logistics and transportation data into clear, useful insights. You understand how to connect business processes, data structures, reporting requirements, and performance metrics into dashboards and tools that help stakeholders make better decisions.

You bring strong Power BI, Excel, SAP, and data analytics experience, with the ability to work across multiple systems and functional groups. You are comfortable identifying trends, exceptions, root causes, and process gaps, then translating those findings into recommendations that improve efficiency and business performance.

You are detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance tactical reporting needs with larger strategic improvement initiatives. You can communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, build consensus across teams, and influence process improvements without direct authority.

You are a self-starter who adapts quickly, operates well in a dynamic environment, and brings a strong sense of ownership and urgency to your work. You are curious about the underlying commercial business and motivated to grow into higher levels of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, MIS, Business, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • High proficiency in Power BI
  • Proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server, DAX, Power Query, and advanced data computations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly
  • Business aptitude to understand commercial logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation operations, and integration points across the value chain
  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across one or multiple functional areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support business-focused decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in analytics or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Commercial, Procurement, Transportation, or Logistics support
  • Knowledge of supply chain and/or transaction processing
  • 2+ years of experience using SAP SD module or SAP S/4HANA
  • 2+ years of direct experience in the oil and gas logistics or transportation industry
