About the Opportunity
We are recruiting experienced Subsea Pipeline & Spool Design Engineers to join a leading global EPC contractor in Stavanger one of the world’s most established subsea engineering hubs.
You will become part of the Pipeline Design Discipline, supporting major offshore and subsea developments across the full project lifecycle — from early concept and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, and installation.
This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-value offshore projects within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide technical expertise across multiple subsea pipeline projects, including:
- Engineering & Design
- Provide pipeline technology input during Concept and FEED studies
- Deliver pipeline and spool design from tender phase through detailed engineering
- Develop and optimise pipeline routing and subsea field layouts
- Perform mechanical design of rigid pipelines and flowlines
- Execute in-place design of rigid and flexible flowlines
- Conduct on-bottom stability, roughness, and free-span assessments
- Design pipe-in-pipe and bundled pipeline systems
- Perform trawl impact and pull-over analyses
- Execute pipeline pull-in assessments
- Design spools for tie-ins and thermal expansion requirements
- Design and assess pipeline components
- Technical Coordination & Project Interface
- Contribute to pipeline technology development initiatives
- Coordinate across welding, materials, structural, hydrodynamics, and geotechnical disciplines
- Follow up design scopes delivered by internal teams and subcontractors
- Interface with fabrication contractors and installation teams
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor or master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Marine, Offshore, Naval Architecture)
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience
• Experience from execution projects including engineering of subsea pipeline systems
• Good general knowledge within structural and/or mechanical design & hydrodynamics.
• Knowledge and experience using any of the software Abaqus, Ansys, OrcaFlex, Matlab, Mathcad, is an advantage
• Programming and scripting skills (Python) is an advantage
• Overview and understanding of applicable design codes, industry standards and legislative requirements
• Well organized and highly developed systematic working methods
• Good communication and networking skills
• Proactive and motivated
• High integrity
• Strong analytical skills
• Understanding of client’s needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
Experience working for EPC contractors or major offshore operators is highly desirable
